Director of Campus Technology-Collin College

10-17 – Present
Led 56 FT and PT technicians; responsible for a scope of 9 campuses and ~35k credit and continuing students; >12k networked devices
Managed team delivering VDI services using VMware Horizon 7.13; VSphere 6.5, and App Vol 4.2. Early in the 1st lockdown we were supporting over 200 desktops a day during the pandemic.
Implemented Microsoft Autopilot and Intune as lifecycle management tools integrating O365 and Azure Active Directory. This allowed for remote software distribution to staff and classroom that was historically not possible in the district.
Managed multiple vendors in the process of building and configuring new campuses: Rockwall, the Public Safety Training Center; The Technical Campus in Allen and The Campus in Wylie.
Coordinated internal stakeholders with Dell and affiliated services teams to streamline the PC implementation process for both academic and administrative users on new campuses.
Enhanced processes for ITIL; resulting in additional focus on decentralized help desk and 1st call resolution

Director of Education System Technology

1/13 to 7/15— Education Management Corporation individual contributor span of ~20 Campuses
Relationship manager to c-suite of Argosy University. Developed IT strategy consistent with executive team focus, provided direction and focus to IT operations and influenced purchase of a portfolio of IT products and services to meet those needs.
Helped reduce IT operating expenses (acquisition, maintenance and disposal) by over 3MM by championing Citrix and Desktop as a Service which reduced costs for: Security, Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities without impacting workflow or employee engagement.
Created ITIL based enterprise operations manual, service level catalog and agreement impacting all campus technicians (>300) in 100 business units ensuring a measurement platform for IT Service Delivery
Managed IT portfolio of green field projects, building renovations, network/telecom migrations including (~150k to 3.0M): guest wireless, Digital Signage and professional audio and television studio installs. Experienced in initiation, progress and cost tracking, communications, closure, and handover.

Served as functional Director of Technology for 11 Argosy University and 10 Art Institute International campuses supporting a region that grew 26% YoY in FY ’10 and 18% over plan for the year. Matrix reporting to campus president and VP of Campus IT
Ensured PCI, HIPAA, & SOX compliance nationwide (100 campuses, 30 restaurant teaching labs, 20 mental health clinics) through project completion, technician training, hardware and software upgrades; ~25% improvement in internal IT audit scores.
Drove yearly technology capital planning & procurement for 10 campuses in Argosy University (~$200,000 to $400,000 each campus) through communicating the strategic importance of the improvements sought and building support throughout the campus’ constituencies.
Developed, implemented, and managed school technology plans ensuring broad scale stakeholder participation, alignment with local operations and system wide strategic initiatives. Supervised a downstream staff of 14
Served as non-voting member for 10 regional campuses executive committees as well
as numerous enterprise wide committees.
Worked with AT&T to install burstable, managed 100MB links in over 15 Art Institute campuses dramatically improving student satisfaction with internet speed on yearly surveys (from 10% to 60% improvement)
Used industry benchmarks and stakeholder input to develop multiple performance metrics for the IT department including 1-hour turnaround for critical classroom issues. These served as the basis for the region's first SLA allowing for transparency regarding IT performance and improved internal and external customer relations.
